Study Trips
Our study tours always combine two worlds: inspiring international best practices and direct applicability to your own professional environment. During every tour, we visit innovative healthcare and pharmaceutical organizations, hospitals, companies, and knowledge institutions to gain insight into how healthcare and pharmacy are organized around the world. Naturally, we also devote ample attention to cultural experiences, allowing participants not only to gain professional inspiration, but also to fully experience the country, its culture, and local way of life.
Under the expert guidance of Sybren Tijmstra and Peter Felen, participants continuously translate international insights into practical applications for their own organizations and daily practice. This combination of in-depth content, international inspiration, and practical relevance makes our study tours unique.
Singapore is internationally regarded as a living laboratory for healthcare innovation. The country combines strong governmental leadership, an integrated digital infrastructure, and a clear focus on prevention and population health.
Technologies such as AI, data analytics, robotics, and digital healthcare platforms are not merely tested — they are fully integrated into the healthcare system. Successful innovations are rapidly scaled up, creating a model in which policy, technology, and practice reinforce one another.
During this study tour, you will discover how this approach works and which lessons may be relevant for the future of healthcare in your own country.
Singapore is widely recognized as one of the world’s most advanced healthcare systems. During this study tour, you will gain unique insight into how a country with a clear vision, strong governance, and advanced technology is shaping a future-proof healthcare system.
Through an intensive program, you will meet policymakers, hospitals, innovative healthcare organizations, and companies from the biotech and medtech sectors. You will discover how Singapore succeeds not only in developing new healthcare concepts, but also in rapidly implementing them on a national scale. The insights gained are highly relevant for professionals involved in healthcare innovation, policy, and organizational development.
This study tour provides insights at multiple levels of the healthcare system. Participants gain a deeper understanding of how Singapore shapes national healthcare transformation and how policy decisions are translated into everyday practice.
An important part of the program consists of visits to innovative hospitals where technology, data, and healthcare logistics are closely integrated. Here you will see how digital patient pathways, telemonitoring, and AI-supported decision-making are applied to organize healthcare more efficiently and safely.
The program also focuses on pharmaceutical innovation and biotech. Singapore has developed into a major international hub for precision medicine and pharmaceutical development. During the tour, you will learn how ecosystems of science, entrepreneurship, and healthcare institutions contribute to rapid innovation.
Prevention and population-based healthcare also play an important role in the program. Singapore invests heavily in national initiatives focused on behavioral change, health promotion, and disease prevention. This approach demonstrates how prevention can be structurally embedded into healthcare policy and practice.
Finally, the tour explores the digital infrastructure supporting the healthcare system. National electronic health records, telehealth platforms, and integrated data ecosystems form the foundation of many innovations participants will experience during the tour.
During the study tour, Ernst Kuipers will provide a keynote contribution.
He will discuss the differences between the healthcare systems of Singapore and the Netherlands and address which lessons and insights may be relevant for the further development of healthcare systems internationally. His contribution connects international observations with governance, implementation, and strategic decision-making.
Throughout the tour, a representative will be present daily to support all practical and organizational matters.
This study tour is designed for professionals involved in the future of healthcare and pharmacy, including pharmacists, healthcare executives, policymakers, and professionals interested in innovation, digitalization, and healthcare organization.
The program offers not only inspiration, but above all concrete insights into how healthcare transformation can be realized in practice.
